November 2025 – On Progress
Executive Summary
PT Organics Bali has been awarded the turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract to deliver a state-of-the-art Compressed Biomethane (CBM) Production Facility for PT. Teguh Jayaprima Abadi at their mill assets in East Kalimantan
The primary objective of this project is to upgrade raw biogas from the client’s existing anaerobic digestion and bio-scrubber system into high-purity, pipeline- and vehicle-grade biomethane
Project Specification
Client & Location: PT. Teguh Jayaprima Abadi, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Feed Gas Source & Capacity: Raw biogas from anaerobic digestion with a design flow of 430 Nm3/h.
Raw Biogas Composition: Methane 50-65%, Carbon Dioxide 30-45%, and Nitrogen & Oxygen up to 3%.
Product Gas Output: Compressed Biomethane (CBM) output of 240 Nm3/h.
Final Product Quality: Methane >= 95-97%, Carbon Dioxide <= 2-3%, H2S <= 5 ppmv, and Oxygen <= 1.0%.
Moisture Control: Deep drying via TSA unit to achieve a dew point of <= -20 C at 250 bar.
Methane Recovery Rate: High efficiency upgrading system delivering >= 96-99% methane recovery.
Process Technology: Containerized system with H2S removal, primary compression, membrane separation, catalytic de-oxo unit, zinc oxide guard bed, TSA dryer, and high-pressure compression.
Delivery System: Cascade storage banks compressed to 250 bar with a twin-hose CBM dispenser for trucks.
Operational Regime: Continuous operations for 8,000 hours per year with 50% turndown capability.
Impact
Waste Monetisation: Converts raw low-pressure biogas into a commercial bio-CNG fuel asset.
GHG Mitigation: Reduces operational greenhouse gas emissions to support decarbonisation.
Fuel Substitution: Supplies compressed alternative fuel to offset diesel or natural gas use.
ESG Support: Strengthens environmental performance data for corporate ESG reporting.
Clean Tech Deployment: Integrates sustainable green infrastructure within the regional economy.
*Note (assumptions):
Feedstock Stability: Assumes a steady raw biogas supply of 430 Nm3/h from the mill.
Fossil Fuel Offset: Assumes the CBM directly replaces local diesel or natural gas.
Target Uptime: Environmental and volume impacts depend on achieving 8,000 operating hours per year.
Waste Utilization: Assumes the raw biogas would otherwise be flared or vented.
Market Compliance: Assumes the CBM meets local transport standards for immediate vehicle use.
