Every tank of untreated POME holds wasted energy. Unmanaged manure adds up to a real missed opportunity, tonne after tonne. Organics Bali carries that reality into every room we enter, including a closed-door national dialogue on industrial decarbonization we joined this July. We brought our biogas, CBM (Compressed BioMethane), and anaerobic digestion expertise straight into the conversation. Ammonia recovery and net-zero compliance sat high on the agenda too.

This wasn’t a conference we simply attended. Instead, it was a chance to push practical, ground-level solutions onto Indonesia’s national agenda. The gathering ran under the theme “Anchoring the Delivery Enabler for Green Industrial Competitiveness,” hosted privately as part of a closed-door series shaping the country’s industrial decarbonization strategy.

For us, showing up mattered because talk alone doesn’t treat a single drop of POME. Instead, it takes real systems, real financing, and real partners willing to build. Ultimately, we want Indonesia’s industrial decarbonization pathway to reflect what works on the ground, not just what looks good on paper.

Organics Role in This Table

This dialogue forms the second part of a three-stage national series. First, private sector players and industry associations met and shaped the initial findings. Then, development partners and implementation organizations, including us, carried the discussion forward. Finally, government representatives will join the third and closing stage.

Our task in this round centered on alignment. We helped connect financiers and technical experts around real challenges. Palm oil mills, agribusinesses, industrial estates, and livestock operations already raised these issues in earlier sessions. As a result, recommendations reaching government will reflect what is actually happening on the ground for organic waste management and on-site energy generation.

What Industry Already Told Us

The private sector dialogue before this session confirmed what we see daily. We work with palm oil mills, cassava processors, and large agribusinesses every week.

Interest in decarbonization is not the problem, and technology is not either. Instead, the real barriers stay structural, and they keep showing up across sectors.

Clean, credible electricity access remains the biggest bottleneck industry faces today. Reliable renewables, recognized Renewable Energy Certificates, direct power agreements, and transparent tracking systems all matter as much as any subsidy. Meanwhile, capital sits ready and waiting, yet bankable projects stay scarce. Coordination, too, stays fragmented, since Indonesia already has many studies and pilots but few connected systems linking them together.

In turn, this gap explains why on-site, self-sufficient energy loops make so much sense for mills and estates. They cannot simply wait for grid-level fixes to arrive. Demand-side policy also carries real weight: green procurement, standards like ISPO and RSPO, and green product markets all need to move together. On top of that, a proposed matchmaking approach aims to help developers, industry, and financiers connect faster, so anchor projects get built sooner.
